Union lost an exciting final against Oamaru by 1 run in cold and windy conditions at Awamoa Park.

After Oamaru were bowled out for 87 Union looked to be in a strong position but some tight bowling saw Union struggle to score the required runs and fell just two runs short to take the trophy.

Earlier Union had beaten Albion for a place in final, winning by 35 runs, after two good contributions from Ants Cromwell and Jeremiah Shields. Dickinson bowled well in this game and the next taking 3-14 against Albion and 2-12 in the final.
