In the first Tui 20/Twenty tournament to played at club level in North Otago Union lost to Albion in a day that saw teams play in knockout format. Union had earlier beaten Oamaru by 5 wickets. Makeshift opener Benny Hardaker was the star in the earlier game scoring 59 not out including 9 fours.
