In the match played at Milner Park, Union won by a massive 160 runs against Waitaki Boys High.

Batting first Union made 224-9 of their 50 over's on a ground which in the past 2 games teams batting first have only managed to score 130 runs for 20 wickets. For Union openers Craig Wilson (53) and Robert Coates (17) got of to a good start with a partnership of 72. John Crombie batting at three top scored with 63 and the extras made up 35. Paul Johnston provided some stability at the end of the innings with a well scored 19 not out. For Waitaki Keith Gardiner took 4-36.

Chasing Unions total Waitaki was of to a bad start and never really recovered apart from 36 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. John Crombie bowling for Union was hit for 8 runs in his first over but then took 5 wickets for no runs in his remaining over's to finish with 5 for 8.Only Keith Gardiner showed any resistance to the Union attack scoring more than half of his teams total with 35.
