Union welcomed back its rep players with a 6 wicket win against Oamaru in 20+ degree temperatures

Batting first Oamaru made the total of 174 thanks largely to a 71 by Gerry Cunningham and 26 from former New Zealand Representative and current Otago Representative David Sewell. For Union John Crombie picked up 4 for 35, and in his first game of the season Steve Ridley picked up 4-18. Craig Wilson and Mark Wilson were the other wicket takers.

Union were of to a bad start losing opener Robert Coates (1) with the score only on 5, and then losing their next 2 wickets in the space of 6 runs on 48 and 54. But then North Otago Captain and Selector Mark Wilson and fellow North Otago Representative Duncan Drew combined for a partnership of 107 wicket effectively put the game out of Oamaru's reach.
