The Union Cricket Club senior team completed four senior competition finals victories in a row with a dominant display over Albion at Whitestone Contracting Stadium.

Albion were immediately in trouble batting first losing opener Steve Halliwell of the first ball of the match. They found themselves in further trouble with the loss of Hayden McKenzie in the second over. Chris Cunningham and Peter Cartwright then combined for 26 runs before Isaac Shields took his wicket leg before wicket. Union then destroyed Albion's middle order taking the next 3 wickets for only 5 runs with danger men Brad Kernahan and Paul Odell failing to score. Marshall Smith then took to the bowlers top scoring for the innings with 21, 18 of those runs coming from boundaries, before he as out caught by keeper Antony Cromwell to the bowling of Paul Johnston. Scott Guyton and Gareth Duncan combined for a 21 run partnership for the ninth wicket but by then the damage had already been done. Albion all out for 91 in the 33rd over with Glynn Cameron taking 3-18 of 10 overs, Chris Ware 2-15 of 9, Isaac Shields 2-22, and Brad Fleming 2-14 of 4.4.

Union started badly in its chase losing opener Antony Cromwell in the first legitimate ball of the innings but Jeremiah Shields and Duncan Drew then combined for a 57 run partnership that put Union in complete control of the match. Despite losing a further four wickets after the loss of Shields (28) the match was never in doubt, Union winning by 4 wickets and its fourth senior title in a row. Drew was the top scorer of the match with 28, while Ricky Whyte was the main wicketaker for Albion with 3-24, and Brad Kernahan took 2-27 of his 6.1 overs
