Oamaru v. Union

Fred W Ongley
Fred W Ongley

The Oamaru And Union cricket teams met yesterday for the first time this season on King George's Park, where the wicket was unreliable and the outfield long. Oamaru batted first, and put up a very poor performance, making only 33 with one man short. Union did but little better, and occupied 80 minutes in getting 40 runs, losing nine wickets in the effort. J. Robertson (14) and Ongley(13) being the only two to stay for long.

The bowling on both sides, helped by the wicket, was good.
