Rycole inflicted a heavy defeat on last seasons Senior Reserve Champions Albion winning by 173 runs.

Union batted through all of its allocated 45 over's scoring 266-9. After the early loss of Robert Coates (2) and John Anderson (0), Jarred Ovens and opener Paul Alden combined for a 141 run third wicket partnership to help put Albion on the back foot for the rest of the match. Andrew Lusty had a good start to the season recording 24, while all-rounder Mitchell Sidon set the total past 250 with an aggressive innings of 36 including 3 sixes.

Chasing Rycoles huge total Albion never really looked to provide a challenge as after the first two over's Albion where already on the back foot being 3-6. This brought in Ricky Whyte who scored 51, however this proved to be to little to late as Albion was all out for 93. For Union Todd Sidon, after taking two wickets in the first over, ended with 3-26 of his five over's, Darryl Whitburn took 2-8 of 2.3 over's, while veteran Robert Coates took 3-2 of his 2 over's.
