Union had its first win for the season beating the St Kevin's 1st XI by 5 wickets on Saturday.
Batting first St Kevin's where soon in trouble with opening bowler Neil Rushton taking 4 wickets in his first 4 over's, with the fourth St Kevin's wicket falling with only 19 runs on the board. Robbie Smith provided some resistance and top scored for St Kevin's with 74. For Union veteran John Crombie took 2-31, while Rushton finished with 4-11 and Ben Sinnamon cleaned up the tail taking 4-22.
Chasing the modest target Union faltered at the start losing opener Jeremiah Shields for a royal golden duck, but then provided some good partnerships as all the batsman that where required reached double figures. Top scorer for the innings was Mitchell McRae, back after missing the first match of the season, who when Union surpassed St Kevin's total was unbeaten on 39. Thomas Shields made up for his twins score making 26.
