Union beat a weakened Oamaru side by 7 wickets on Saturday.

After winning the toss Oamaru elected to bat first on a good batting wicket at Union's King George Park. However Oamaru struggled due to some good tight bowling and where all out for 145 in the 44th over. For Union veteran Glynn Cameron was rewarded with a good bowling performance taking 4-30 of ten over's and was at one stage sitting on a hat-trick. Andrew McCulloch, who was brought on in the last over's of the innings, proved to be hard to score runs of taking 2-8 of his 4.5 over's, while captain Neil Rushton constantly beat the batsman and was unlucky to take only 1 wicket finishing with 1-12 of eight very economical over's.
