Seniors suffered there first loss for the season after a 87 run loss to Oamaru. Union looked to be on top mid way through the Oamaru innings until an inspiring batting effort from David Sewell turned the match to Oamaru's favour. Top scoring for the match he recorded 45 runs before being bowled by Glynn Cameron.

Chasing Oamaru's 163-9 Union started badly and never really recovered being all out for 76 of 23.5 over's. The only batsmen of note was Andrew McCulloch with his 26, while Michael Ormandy scored 14 in an aggressive innings with 3 boundaries.
