After winning the toss and electing to field Oamaru recorded 197 of their allocated 20 over's. Union struggled in the hot conditions, with Daniel Conlon taking 4-31 with 3 wickets in his final over. Shaun Todd took 2-15.

With a required run rate of 10 an over, Union never really looked like getting close. Opener Glynn Cameron continued his good form this season with a hard hitting 41 before being sensationally being caught and bowled by Regan George. Antony Cromwell batted well for his 32 before retiring himself due to heat stroke.
