The Oamaru and Union teams were matched on King George's Park yesterday. The wicket was bad and untrustworthy, while the outfield was rough, though faster than in the early part of the season. The cricket therefore was not good and the only interest was in the issue, which was in doubt right to the finish. Union made 65 (Ewing, J. Stott, and Graham getting 10 and Todd 12). Cameron and Uttley gave Oamaru a fairly good start and the former stayed right through the innings until , after Jackson had made the winning stroke, he was stumped in going out to Ongley. His patience was just what was required on such a wicket and his innings won the match for his side. The bowling was good, and was made better by the uneven pitch.
