The School ground was in perfect condition on Saturday, Oamaru opened against Union rather poorly, losing Henry, Zimmerman and Hargreaves for 42, but Uttley and Milnes added 115 for the fourth wicket, and the back of the attack being broken, the remaining batsmen carried the score to 324. Uttley's century was a good effort.
