There having been no play on the first day the Oamaru-Union match developed into a one innings affair. Oamaru batted first and made 82, of which Uttley got 34 and Sumpter 32. McDoanld took six wickets for 46. Union lost eight wickets in getting the necessary runs to pass Oamaru's score, and went on to make 130 of nine wickets, of which H. Robertson made 24, Catto 26 and J. Robertson 40 (not out).
