By scoring 221 in fast time in the second innings Union nearly snatched victory from Oamaru on Saturday. Oamaru were 60 ahead on the first innings, but had lost seven wickets for 78 in the first innings when the bell saved them. A. Forbes 47 and L. Forbes 27 not out showed good form for Union.
