In Dick Hunt trophy cricket Albion defeated Union by 98 runs at King George Park on Saturday in a fifty over game while out at Weston Park  Oamaru defeat Valley by five wickets.

A fine century(108) from Jeremy Smith backed up by solid support from younger brother, Nathan(75), the pair producing a third wicket stand of 173 enabled Albion to beat Union by 98 runs. Jeremy Smith faced just 76 balls and hit fourteen fours and four sixes in his innings. Opener Ian Cooney again hit out lustily for 39 and produced a second wicket stand of 56 with Nathan Smith while Ricky Whyte(44) and Matt Day(23) made valuable contributions. Glynn Cameron was the best of the Union bowlers taking five for 71. Union was dismissed in the 32nd over for 145 with Dan Conlan(35) and Cameron( 32) showing any real resistance. Cooney led the Albion bowlers with four for 19 off 6.3 overs while  Matt Day, Jeremy Smith and Ricky Whyte took two wickets each.
