The Union Senior will go into the Borton Cup playoffs in top place for the second season in succession after being defaulted to in the weekend by Oamaru.

The Oamaru Senior team has been struggling this season to put together a team and it was the case again in the weekend as they defaulted for the second time since Christmas.

Although the default had no real influence on the make up of the final points table for the season with Union qualifying first after last weekends results it still leaves the side without a match the week before its semi-final against Albion.

The Senior team will be looking to add the Borton Cup to its list of trophies this season with the Dick Hunt Rosebowl and Payne Tempero Cup locked away in the trophy cabinet. If successful they will be the first club to win the Borton Cup Championship five seasons in a row.
