When the J Reid trophy was changed from the winner of the Third Grade competition before Christmas the North Otago Cricket Association introduced the NOCA Shield. As third grade is now more of a development grade for St Kevins and Waitaki Boys High, Union doesn't frequently enter a team in this grade.
