Union retained the Payne Tempero Cup for another season as they beat Waitaki Boys by 5 wickets.

After winning the toss WBHS recorded a total of 139 all out in 33.1 over's. Glynn Cameron picked up his second 5 wicket bag for Union taking 5-22 of his 7.1 over's. He was backed up by Paul Johnston (2-34) and Phil Crossan knocked of the top of the order with 2-20 of his ten.

Union surpassed the target five wickets down with Duncan Drew scoring 61 while Jeremiah Shields in a patient innings guided Union through to the win with 24 not out.

The Payne Tempero Cup will stay at Union for another season, with the senior team being undefeated in Payne Tempero Cup matches for the 2008-2009 season.
